Youth Service Call In
I was at the meeting only for an hour as I had a prior appointment but in that hour you could see from the demeanor of the cabinet member that like Maggie Thatcher “the cabinet member was not for turning” You can read what happened at the rest of the meeting and the final outcome at these blog sites, if you have not read them yet. I feel sorry for the youth of North Lincs, who, are going to get a service that is inferior to the service they are receiving now, in my mind.
I’ve seen and heard the rumours that are running around about what action can be taken to try and save the youth service. This might sound a bit cruel but that battle is lost. People must move on from this and learn. One thing that has to be learnt from this is that the “open and transparent” tory run council don’t like criticism (you could see that yesterday)
At yesterday’s meeting you could see that some form of organisation was going on by the youth of North Lincs, just by the numbers there, but this was at the end of the process, it should of been at the beginning
I did a blog on the 13th January pointing out the strengths of being a member of a union, this in my mind is the only way to go, but to go that way you have to have a strong union with strong leadership (which I believe is sadly missing at this time) There are rumours going around in the circles I am privy to that hopefully that is soon to change.
If you are not a member of a union, please join. Remember there is power in numbers.

Cllr Grant is absolutly right join a union there is always saftey and power in numbers, i feel very sorry for all the people involved in this, its time Redfern and her mobsters were run out of town.
But i have that funny feeling that it will be april or just after when these poverty reapers will start to come undone as i have said before cllr grant IDS will be first then they will fall like domminoes UNIVERSAL POVERTY sorry i mean UNIVERSAL CREDIT has already been put back until october 2013 and is well over budget the whole IT system has that CSA type of smell to it (you know what i mean it spends more time down and crashing than actually doing anything).
Ofcourse some people say universal credit may never see the light of day in its current form that plonker osbourne already has it top of his list as projects that are most likley to fail and cost to much he’s dying to pull the trigger on it and lets hope he does.
Just been reading the scunthorpe telegraph and came across this story

Theres a lovely picture of the good old steel workers and the trussels logo in the background says it all really.
I remeber when the recession first hit these people along with there unions were pushing the low paid and contracters overboard to save there own skin faster than long john silver could say WALK THE PLANK.
Steel workers have robbed a generation of youth in scunthorpe of the oppertuninty find employment on there and prossper just as they have, through there cradle to the grave and double dipping tatics.
My Grandad worked on there all his life and always used to say never ever trtust a scunthorpe steel worker they are modern day muskateers ALL FOR ONE AND ALL FOR THEMSELVES.
I myself have heard Tata steel workers on the blast furnaces talk about the needy, poor and unemployed they treat them with nothing but contempt and hatred this along with tory scum is a lethal combination.
Handing out trussels trust food parcels massaging there already over inflated ego’s what PLONKERS.
Tottaly agree with V on the food parcel article in the Telegraph im so proud to have food banks in scunthorpe NOT.
Anyway i would just like to say congratulations to all the people who turned out yesterday you should be proud of yourselves and soon you can make a difference Remember this slogan you heard it first on this blog share it where ever you can

On UJM
The DWP thought it could mandate people to register for and use UJM based on the recently passed Welfare Act, which they thought trumped the pre-existing Data Protection Act 1998 which stated that personal data could only be stored and processed with the consent of that data’s owner. As in so many things they were wrong.

Workfare a thriveing industry in Scuthorpe
Workfare in a nutshell – Working for a company through a third party poverty pimp (sometimes 40hrs+) to gain valuable experience and plug gaps in your Cv whilst unemployed.
Rate of pay – National Minimum wage NO rate of pay jsa YES.
In my opinion when labour return to power in scunthorpe at the next election they should show what localism really means and outlaw this vile practice we have all seen people holding up banners on wooden sticks in the town centre there’s two companies at it at the momment its WORKFARE.
These people are not learning anything they are just been used as free labour i feel for them, humiliated and exploited, one paticular shop in the town centre has been closeing since early last year i wish they would BEEP BEEP.
Even some of the major supermarkets and charities are at it do not support these people THE MINIMUM WAGE EXCISTS FOR A REASON if you support this you may soon find there isnt one.
Decent pay for a hard days graft not peanuts.
